TassSilo: A Mobile App to Ensure Optimal Silage Packing
TassSilo is a mobile app created by FRcuma Ouest that is designed to help farmers ensure optimal silage packing. The app allows users to input the parameters of their ensiling operations, such as the yield and flow rate of the ensiling machine, and the characteristics of the tractors and telescopic handlers used for packing. TassSilo then provides instant feedback on whether the equipment is heavy enough to achieve the desired compaction.
The latest version of TassSilo, TassSilo 2, also enables farmers to adjust for dry matter content and input the actual weights of their machinery. Additionally, TassSilo 2 offers a more in-depth analysis of the ensiling process by taking into account factors such as silo type, height, and number of passes to calculate average density. The goal is to achieve less than 40% air content, equivalent to approximately 240 kg of dry matter per m3 or a density of 700 kg of wet matter per m3.
